The Strategic Action Process
Traditional approaches to strategic planning are dead because they produced great plans and poor results. The great ideas dreamed up by the planners were ignored by the people who ran the business. We have learned that you dont need a great strategic plan to be a successful organization; you need a good one. What you do need is great execution of a good strategic plan: aligning the organization and involving people who will accept the responsibility and accountability for producing results that will make a difference.
The Strategic Action Process represents a new approach to strategy planning and execution. It works. It produces great results; in part, because the strategy initiatives and their implementation are planned by the people who run the business and are executed by people in the organization who are chosen because they want to make a difference.
